Primarily derived from algae grown in Vaults' hydroponic sections, HYPERFOOD is a protein supplement that can be molded and flavored like most common foodstuffs, including both plant and animal matter as well as more complex substances such as ice cream. While largely derived from bio-engineered algae or fungi grown in water tanks, it can be derived from almost any organic protein stock, including deceased Vault Dwellers in some cases.
HYPERFOOD generally is shaped to appear as unrealistically large, lush, and tasty food - huge succulent steaks, impossible large ripe fruit, and so on. It is, at least according to Vault-Tec corporate releases, indistinguishable from the food it is molded after- in truth if improperly prepared, it possesses an almost unpalatable salty taste.
